Michael B. Scallan
A native of Baton Rouge, Michael B. Scallan is a graduate of Redemptorist High School and obtained his undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. Scallan is a graduate from Southern University Law Center and joined Tomeny | Best Injury Lawyers as an attorney in 2020.
Scallan has a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, sports management from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. He was a member of the Sports Management Association and worked as an intern in the athletic compliance department before graduating in 2015. Thereafter, he decided to act on his longtime interest in the law and follow in the footsteps of family members by pursuing a law degree.
During his tenure at Southern University Law Center, he was a member of the Southern University Law Review and served as its Articles Editor on its editorial board. He drafted and published his law review article, Painkillers for Profit Gains: How the Ninth Circuit’s Revival of Dent v. NFL Could Hold the League Liable for Long-Term Injuries Caused By Its Administration of Painkillers, 46 S.U. L. Rev. 195, 325 (2019). Additionally, he worked as a professor’s research assistant and earned several academic awards while in law school.
Scallan received his J.D. from Southern University Law Center, where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
When he is not working, Scallan enjoys playing music, hunting, fishing, and playing with his dog named Judge.Contact Us Now
